2025.11 Experience Stores V2

The Brief

In 2020 FMX were instructed by EE to provide strategic advice on the proposed roll out of a new concept store. The focus was on the Top 30 retail locations across the UK, with a bigger store size than the traditional format. Prime pitch units providing circa 3,000 sq ft of sales, with prominent frontages were required.

The new Experience Stores are designed to empower the EE customers with the best connectivity and tech solutions, perfectly tailored for a modern connected lifestyle. It’s a dynamic space where people can work, learn and play, blending the best of physical and digital worlds. Further information can be seen in the brand book.

The Result

FMX successfully acquired a flagship Studio store in Westfield London and have subsequently acquired Experience stores from Bluewater to Braehead and Lakeside to Cardiff. Smaller format Experience Local stores have also been acquired in smaller towns such as Harrogate, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall & Elgin.

FMX also advised EE on the resulting disposals, where consolidation into the new flagship stores has usually created at least 1 or in some cases 2 surplus stores , so we have either negotiated surrenders or marketed the lease.
