Our clients are mainly national retailers as well as institutional landlords and developers. Our coverage is nationwide dealing with major regional shopping centres, town and city centres, outlet malls, food stores and major mixed use regeneration projects. Increasingly our expertise is being sought on the repurposing of redundant retail space, reflecting the changing focus and adaptation required by many historically retail venues.
The position is within the Retail and Lease Advisory team at FMX, tasked with advising a range of retail and leisure operators and landlords. The expectation is that the individual will already be operating at a Senior Surveyor/ Associate level having a growing or established profile in the retail sector.
It is expected the candidate will draw on existing contacts and clients to develop a pipeline of fee generating opportunities, whilst working with FMX’s existing client base.
- Advising retailer clients on their lease renewals, lease regears and rent reviews.
- Advising landlord clients on their shopping centre/high street lease advisory work.
- Liaising directly with all clients – both retailers and landlords.
- Assisting FMX Partners in providing best practice advice to clients across the retail sectors.
- Assisting in pitch presentations.
- An individual who is entrepreneurial, hard-working, confident, self-motivated and fun!
- RICS qualified.
- Proven experience in lease advisory work.
- Some experience of writing expert reports.
- Up to date knowledge of current practice and legislation.
- Experience in managing your own caseload but reporting to Lisa Hardy, a Partner in the Lease Advisory team.
- Client facing with first rate written and verbal communication skills.
- Consultative approach with the ability to understand client requirements.
- Good computer literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other packages.
- Good contacts in the property market.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to prepare and make quality presentations.
- A rounded individual who has hobbies and interests outside of work.
