After working in all the retail subsectors, James now specialises in providing asset management and investment advice for shopping centres, High Street parades and food stores. James has advised a number of high-profile clients from institutional investors through to private equity and the banking sector. He has advised on receivership sales, fundings, portfolios and individual sales. Key clients have been Schroders, Sainsbury’s, Kennedy Wilson, Ellandi, Rivington Hark, Fairacre, ICG, Savills, Hawkstone and Hermes.
James qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1998, having completed his early career at Colliers Erdman Lewis. After a short period as the property director of an expanding retailer, he joined Churston Heard where he was an equity partner before the sale of the business to JLL. At the new combined business he oversaw the Investment Advisory department which he was responsible for running large in house institutional mandates. He was a European Director and sat on the UK retail board. James went on to set up the award winning practice, Fawcett Mead in 2010.
James is a keen, but very poor golfer and is a member at Royal Wimbledon golf club. He enjoys playing, coaching and umpiring cricket and supporting his sons in all their sporting endeavours. He sits on the board of trustees for the Elifar Foundation. He is married to Charlotte and lives in Wandsworth.
