In 2011 our Landlord and Tenant alongside our Agency teams were instructed to advise on ambitious plans to redevelop the retail element of Wimbledon Bridge House, a landmark building built over the rail tracks, that was splitting local opinion.
MMX Retail was appointed to advise on the redevelopment and delivery of two, new mixed-use town centre destinations to accommodate aspirational retailers, cafés, a hotel, cinema and restaurants, in a bid to reinvigorate Wokingham.
Appointed by Shearer Property Group (SPG) in 2015 to provide development consultancy advice for the transformation and regeneration of 15 acres of Coventry City Centre, known as City Centre South (CCS), into a mixed-use commercial property and residential scheme.
MMX Retail has acted for EE since 2007 and deals with all lease renewals, lease regears, rent reviews, dispute resolution and expert reports across the south of England. In 2019 the MMX Agency team was then appointed as sole adviser to EE on a nationwide basis to advise on all acquisitions and disposals.
MMX Retail acquired the freehold interest of 121/123 Princes Street in Edinburgh. The building provided a new 30,000 sq ft flagship store for New Look over three floors, with the upper floors let to Premier Inn for its flagship 97-bedroom hotel in the city.
In 2013, MMX Retail was jointly instructed to advise Smiggle on its proposed UK entry. Smiggle is part of The Just Group, one of Australia's largest retail groups. The MMX Lease Advisory Team has also dealt with a number of rent reviews on behalf of Smiggle, minimising their rental outgoings.
We were called upon to provide retail strategy, placemaking and development consultancy advice to facilitate the growth of the DLR commercial and cultural offering, and to increase the stations’ connectivity to the town centres in which they sit.
